Meet The Team
Emily Rowland - Owner & Head Trainer
Poopy Evans - Trainer
After more than 22 years working in the dog boarding and daycare industry, Emily brings a wealth of practical knowledge and hands-on experience to Essential Canine Life Skills Chelmsford West.
Alongside a range of animal care qualifications, she achieved her Spirit Dog Trainer qualification in 2025 and now combines her passion for training with the successful running of her independent, self regulated structured daycare business.
As the owner of three rescue dogs, Emily has a particular passion for helping rescue dogs and their owners build confidence together, supporting them as they settle into their new lives and develop lasting relationships based on trust and understanding.
Having grown up with gundogs and worked professionally with dogs for the past 6 years, Poppy has developed a strong understanding of canine behaviour and welfare.
Holding a range of animal care qualifications, including the Spirit Dog Trainer qualification, she brings enthusiasm, knowledge and a calm, supportive approach to our group training classes and workshops.
Poppy is passionate about helping owners build happy, confident relationships with their dogs through positive, reward-based training.
