“My dog is friendly” is what they cry

“So what” is my reply

What makes it OK for your dog to rush over

Mine is OK on lead so we head for cover

“Please call your dog back” I repeatedly shout

“Why has yours got a problem? It shouldn’t be out”

This is where I get cross

But this is lost

Where is the recall?

That makes this acceptable

My dog likes it’s personal space

Just like me, doesn’t want anyone in their face

So think for a moment before unclipping the lead

Can you call them back instantly before they proceed

To get excited jumping all over another dog

Who may not like it and starts to see fog

If the answer is “no”, then training is the key

Obedience work is needed for your dog to go free
